I must be so rewarding to get actual feedback on a campaign that you were behind. I'm very proud of you.

This is a prime example of the beauty of working from the inside. Sure, you may have to fudge on the truth now and then, but Watchtower encourages that depending on who they're dealing with. This is war and you certainly have that right as well. You also have to pay a steep price in doing this, biting your tongue during every meeting and assembly. Plus, the immense time you have to spend out of your life in doing this, not a sacrifice many are willing to pay.

Does the Governing Body (or past presidents) members have (or had to) have body guards?

was watching a biography on the history channel about presidental securities and secrets, how the president is guarded just in case of an attack, an assaination attempt, etc.

it got me to thinking about if any of the past or current gb members (or wt presidents) have ever had any death threats?

do they have a specific plan for a gb member when they visit a city or country?

I was amused by your comment, "On October 2, 1984, I returned to New York to participate in a protest against the governing body, since Armageddon had not come with a 70-year generation of 1914 ("this generation will by no means pass away...")." Yes,1984 saw that ludicrous series of articles culminating in the one with those elderly 16 bethelites on a cover of The Watchtower. If you haven't seen the recently edited version of that cover, here it is:

we had a letter read this afternoon after the watchtower study that said we had 54,408 auxillary pioneers in april and with the regular pioneers it totaled 64,855 in full time preaching in april.

57% of the publishers.. so my guess is that the co will come down hard on any congregation that didn't meet those numbers next april.. i think the 30 hour thing had it's desired effect.. hoser.

The total was 64,855 -- and that represented 57%?

Then, let 64,855 / 0.57 = 113,781 total publishers

What state (or country) do these figures match?

Need ideas for a tract for my anti-witnessing campaign

so a friend and i are going to visit the dc this sunday.

my friend has business cards with her exjw facebook and meetup group info.

the plan is to drop info throughout the convention center.

Here's something small enough that you can cutout and put in you billfold, purse, etc. The Tinyurl link is to the complete essay on the topic. This link is to a single page of the pocket size edition that you can print and snip into 6 copies, handy enough for handouts, below windshield wipers, laundromats (tape to copies of WT and Awake!) etc.

And thanks back to you, Mummatron. It's a rewarding experience knowing that it may help someone out there -- a relative, a friend. Hey, just maybe my 2 JW sons may somehow find their way to that document. Maybe one of those mini documents will find its way into a shirt pocket while out in the field ministry. Maybe that JW in the privacy of his home will sit down at his computer, get out his WT Lib CD, and see for himself what they've said.

As to file hosting, I've learned a lot there. For now I think I'll stay with MediaFire. Hey, I don't think most users hate the ads as much as some do. They realize that free has a price and a few ads here and there don't bother me.

As of moments ago, I checked those 2 documents and they have been downloaded 104 times (the main essay) and 67 times (the mini doc for cutouts) respectively. That's a big plus when you can see progress as the days and weeks and months go by. While Google Docs allows hosting (up to 1 Gb limits for FREE) I don't see where they give you a report as MediaFire does.
